Q. Is The WebCheck®
program
as good as the traditional tenprint card.
A . The answer to this question is straightforward. Yes.
WebCheck is as good as the conventional ink-rolled cards and, in
many cases, better. Results of civilian background checks
requested using ink-rolled cards could take up to 30 days to
return by mail. With WebCheck®, NO-HIT results are
electronically transmitted within two business days. WebCheck is
designed to provide users with fingerprint image quality checks
prior to transmission. This process eliminates the delays
encountered if the traditional tenprint cards were submitted with
poor quality or unreadable prints. The WebCheck® program is accurate, reliable, and efficient. And
the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation supports
and stands behind this innovation.
Q. How much does it cost to have a civilian background
check conducted through the WebCheck® system?
A The cost for BCI and FBI background checks is $30 per
transaction.
Q.How long does it take to receive results from a civilian
background check through WebCheck®?
A . Results are generally available within two business
days. BCI often clears background checks sooner
than the guaranteed two business days. However, when the
background check finds a criminal record, BCI mails the search
results via the US Postal Service. Therefore, in this situation,
arrival of the results depends upon the mail delivery.
Q. What do I need to bring with me in order to get
printed?
A Bring a
valid Identification Card (driver's license or passport) and cash
or money order for the printing fee. We suggest using moisturizer
on your hands before you arrive. The moisturizer aids in the
process. Very dry hands may be difficult to print.
